The Opportunity:
The College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine are looking to appoint an academic clinical consultant as the Chair of Metabolic Psychiatry to establish an internationally leading programme of research in metabolism and mental health, with a focus on severe mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression.
Candidates who do not meet the criteria for Chair will be considered for Reader. Criteria for both Chair and Reader are outlined on the job description.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Medically qualified with accreditation in psychiatry and an MD or PhD and expansive experience in academic research over a sustained period
A track record of international standing in research at the interface of mental illness and metabolic disorders
Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
High level research and/or teaching experience successfully sustained, and productive over the long-term
Reputation for excellence in engaging external stakeholders and the general public in research and knowledge exchange
