Responsibilities
- Character Animation: Create lifelike and expressive animations for human characters, including movement, combat, and emotion
- Object Animation: Animate objects, props, and environmental elements to enhance interactivity and contribute to the game's unique gameplay mechanics.
- Combat Animations: Design and implement dynamic combat animations for both characters and objects, taking inspiration from titles like 'Skate 3' and 'Uncharted.'
- Environmental Interaction: Animate objects and environmental elements to respond to player actions, fostering a dynamic and engaging game world.
- Physics and Ragdoll Animations: Develop physics-based animations and ragdoll systems to enhance realism and immersion during character and object interactions.
- Prototyping: Collaborate with the design team to rapidly prototype and iterate on animations, ensuring they align with gameplay and storytelling objectives.
- Technical Integration: Work closely with programmers to implement animations in Unreal Engine, considering technical constraints and optimisations.
- Motion Capture: If applicable, oversee motion capture sessions and refine captured data for character and object animations.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing to identify and rectify animation issues, ensuring a polished player experience.
- Performance Optimisation: Optimise animations for performance to maintain smooth gameplay across various hardware configurations.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, animation techniques, and new technologies, applying them to enhance the game's animations.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of animation assets and guidelines for the development team.
