3rd Line Support Engineer

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • The ideal candidate should possess over five years of experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service alongside technical proficiency.

Job Description:

  • This role entails serving as the primary technical support resource and lead for client network infrastructure, servers, M365 suite, cybersecurity, and third-party services. Responsibilities include handling service escalations, providing guidance on new projects, facilitating customer consultations, and contributing to service enhancements.

Key Requirements:

  • The Level 3 IT Support Engineer must exhibit in-depth technical expertise to promptly resolve client issues and actively engage in project initiatives. This role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems, as well as contributing to the refinement of customer environments in a dynamic industry landscape.

Important Note:

  • Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in various technical domains, including network connectivity, routing protocols, virtualisation technologies, server management, Microsoft solutions, cybersecurity deployment, and support for third-party applications. Evidence of prior experience in these areas is essential.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for client visits are mandatory. Excellent written communication skills and the ability to work flexible hours are also essential attributes for this role.

Key Skills:

  • Network connectivity and it's principles including TCP/IP, VLANS, Switches, Routers and Security principles such as Firewalls.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, EIGRP and OSPF and the ability to troubleshoot Layer 3 issues.
  • VMware vSphere 4/5 & Hyper-V.
  • Management of backups (installing, monitoring, resolving issues)
  • Windows Server OS (2012, 2016, 2019). Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Active Directory
  • Microsoft Solutions including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint etc
  • Cyber security solutions deployment (MFA, Encryption, AV etc)
  • 3rd party application support (e.g. Finance packages, CRM solutions, ERP solutions etc)
