We are urgently seeking 4 talented Mechanical Assembly Technicians to work for a global company based at their site in Peterborough.
Your role will be on a long term temporary basis some contractors have been in situ for over 2 years and some taken on permanently.
You will be working for a Global company that specialises in water treatment and the Mechanical Assembly Technician will be responsible for the on-going maintenance of this large ion exchange water treatment plant and the mobile units.
Essential Responsibilities
Refurbishment and fabrication of company parts and specific equipment
- Fulfilment of facility maintenance tasks
- Instruments Calibration/ Validation
- Maintain the integrity of work rules and processes
- Use and create Safety Risk Assessments and comply with these requirements
- Follow general EHS standards and suggest possible improvements
- Work Overtime during evenings/mornings and weekends if required to do so
- Participate in trainings and team meetings
- Do regular 5S/housekeeping activities on the site
- Participate LEAN/KAIZEN activities on shop floor
- Able to work individually or within a team of qualified fitters, fabricators/welders and electricians
Experience and Qualifications needed to carry out this role:
- Mechanical assembly
- Experience with PVC and stainless-steel pipework, valves and fittings
- Previously worked in Industrial setting, assembly environment or another operational role
- Strong EHS and Quality compliance awareness
Desired Experience
- MIG and/or TIG Welding
- Plastic welding
Hours are 7.30pm to 4pm Monday to Friday
The role offers a salary circa GBP30,000 (GBP14.42 per hour) along with 34 days holiday 26 days standard and 8 Bank Holidays.
