Job description

UOE Grade 6 £31,396 - £36,024 per annum (A revised salary range for this grade of £32,982 to £38,205 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)
College of Science and Engineering
Contract Type: Open ended (permanent)
Full Time: 35 hours per week
We are looking for a Digital Content Officer to create engaging content to help the College promote our programmes of study, our research, and engage with our internal and external audiences.
This is an exciting and varied role where creative ideas are encouraged. You’ll be hands-on and able to own the creative process from ideation through to execution.
This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The Opportunity:
The Digital Content Officer is responsible for creating multimedia content for a variety of College of Science and Engineering external and internal audiences and channels. You will be responsible for creating videos, photos and design assets in order to support the delivery of the College’s marketing and communications activities.
You will be based in the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) Engagement Team, which has responsibility for the College’s communication, marketing, public engagement and research support functions. You’ll work as part of that team and will also work closely with marketing and communications staff in the College’s schools and units, as well as the wider University marketing and communications community.
Informal enquiries are welcome and can be directed to Alison Fitch (alison.fitch@ed.ac.uk).
Your skills and attributes for success:
Excellent Digital Content creation skills and experience, including editing.
Experience using a wide range of design packages, platforms and tools.
Strong eye for design and detail.
Able to work independently and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
