The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking to recruit a new full time, open-ended School Management Executive Coordinator.
The Opportunity:
The post holder will provide high-level professional, administrative services to the Head of School and Director of Professional Services, overseeing key areas of scheduling and query management.
They will have demonstrable executive assistant experience which they will utilise to act as key facilitator and triage of communication to the Head of School and Director of Professional Services, ensuring that outward communications represent the School and wider University ethos.
The successful candidate must be extremely confident in working independently, and will also act as line manager to the School’s Management Executive assistant function.
The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences provides an exciting work environment through its three subject areas that have a diverse and dynamic research and teaching portfolio.
The post holder will actively support and contribute to the Schools success and will be encouraged to also deliver ideas for continuous improvement opportunities as they arise.
The role shall be based within Dugald Stewart Building (Central Campus) with opportunities for discussion on informal hybrid workplace arrangements available at the time of offer.
Your skills and attributes for success:
• A high degree of personal initiative, exceptional organisational and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• A proven background and strongly developed sense of customer service delivery, especially in a fast paced environment, alongside previous work experience in a personal/executive assistant related role.
• Initiative and judgment to resolve many day-to-day problems independently, with a proactive approach to investigating resolutions. Experience of liaison with, and managing complex logistical arrangements at a senior level.
• Awareness of relevant higher education sectoral issues, policies and procedures.
• Proven experience in communications and or policy related role would be highly desirable
