An A level Mathematics Teacher is sought to teach High School Mathematics for September 2024.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach the Mathematics curriculum to students aged 16 to 19, most of whom will need the maths skills for their further university study. The position offered consists of teaching International A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics to regular classes of twenty students and of elective seminars to small groups of students, (even to individual students) preparing for A level, SAT, Maturita examination. We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified teachers. In terms of personality, the candidate must be able to cope with mixed language levels, work well within a small professional team yet at the same time be self-sufficient, and enjoy the challenge of something new.

The teaching commitment is 24 lessons a week (45 minutes a lesson), supervision duties on a rota basis, needs based one to one tutoring. The times when you are required to be present in school are from 7.30am to 3pm, parent meetings are quarter yearly.

General Information:

You will be entitled to 8 weeks of paid holidays for the calendar year, or appropriate length, to be taken our during school holidays. GALILEO SCHOOL offers lunches for its employees (1,10 EUR for lunch consisting of two dishes - soup and the main course). Health insurance is included for every employee here in Slovakia - partly paid by employer and employee- this is automatically taken from the salary.

Bratislava is the capital city of Slovakia and is a member of the EU. It offers a relatively inexpensive and yet high standard of living. It is a charming city spread on the both banks of the Danube river and has the most well-developed tourist facilities. With its position in central Europe, Bratislava is easy to reach. It is located just an hour from Vienna, two hours from Budapest and three hours from Prague, the three wonderful capital cities. Other European countries can also be reached by low-cost flights from Bratislava International Airport.
