Job description

A world-class drama school and educational charity, LAMDA – the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art – delivers exceptional vocational training in the performing arts. LAMDA’s core aim is to train and develop the best artists regardless of social or financial background. The Academy is at an exciting time in its evolution, paving the way for drama school training in the 21st century and developing multi-skilled creative artists and technicians. In order to ensure that its work is accessible to all, LAMDA is passionately committed to widening participation and operates a robust scholarship scheme, awarding significant support to one in five full-time students each year.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in a newly created role. We are currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to assist with the day-to-day running of the Library and manage the administration of LAMDA’s Academic Board and its sub-committees.

Reporting to the Head of Academic Affairs and Research, you will be supporting students and staff in accessing information and Library resources whilst working with Course Leaders and Lead Practitioners to ensure the maintenance of appropriate reading lists and course texts.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of library and student record systems and experience of librarianship and be a collaborative team player with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both internal and external suppliers.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE), fixed-term role for nine months starting as soon as possible. In this role, you will work 14 hours per week (two days per week) from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm plus evening and weekend work as and when necessary.
