We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK. About the role: As part of a group of Academic Employability Consultants, you will bring together academics and external partners to translate current business challenges into meaningful learning outcomes within the context of the active curriculum. ARU has an ambitious Strategy to transform lives through innovative, inclusive, and entrepreneurial education. Giving students the opportunity to apply their learning in real-world situations and to experience professional opportunities from the start of their course is a key priority of our strategies. This role is pivotal to supporting our strategic ambitions and will require experience of course design and development, particularly as it relates to integrating employability within the HE curriculum or developing CPD within a professional environment, and a proven track record and understanding of engagement with external organisations from key industries/sectors relevant to the school or subject clusters. This is a unique role in HE, we welcome applications from individuals who are curious, creative, and well organised and who are looking for a new challenge in this evolving area of work. You’ll have a Higher Degree, or professional qualification in subject discipline at postgraduate level and a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, or similar. You’ll have successful and significant experience of course design and development, and experience of relationship/partnership management. As well as excellent communication skills, you’ll have a flexible and innovative approach to work. Now is an exciting time to join us! For an informal discussion about the role, contact Sarah Janes, Deputy Director of Student Services, at sarah.janes@aru.ac.uk, or Andrew Middleton, Professor of Active Learning, at andrew.middleton@aru.ac.uk. Applications close on 5th February. We aim to schedule interviews week commencing 19th February.  Find out more about working with us. We have an agile working culture and offer an extensive range of benefits including generous holiday entitlement, occupational pension schemes, training and development opportunities, travel to work scheme and a competitive relocation package. Visit our benefits page for full details. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting welfare of our staff and students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants should be aware that ARU will carry out online searches as part of the due diligence on short listed candidates. We value diversity at ARU and welcome applications from all sections of the community. We have a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK. Committed to being inclusive and open to discuss flexible working. We reserve the right to close this vacancy once we have received sufficient applications.
