This role is subject to -

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). This is a rewarding role which involves working face to face with some of the most in need people in our society: Manchester's homeless community. Shared houses consist of 14 houses consisting of 7 male houses, 3 womens houses and 4 young persons all low to medium individuals experiencing homelessness. In this role you will help residents in support sessions with: universal credit, bank accounts, drug and alcohol referrals, mental health referral, budgeting, getting formal ID, creating personalised support plans, listening to their concerns and needs and eventually moving them on to suitable long term accommodation. Job also includes preparation of rooms ready for re-let, including the cleaning of the rooms checking health and safety of the building and reporting repairs. This is an extremely rewarding but also at times challenging role which offers excellent opportunities for knowledge building and training.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate for this role will be empathetic, have strong people skills and be passionate about ending homelessness. You will be a flexible and motivated worker who can deal with rapidly changing situations and enjoy working in a fast paced environment and using a holistic approach.
