Job description

Our client is a highly successful and expanding family manufacturingbusiness. Due to ongoing growth they urgently require an Accounts/ FinanceManager to take responsibility for a wide range of functions with the FinanceDepartment. The successful candidate will be able to work closely with theirExternal Accountant and also manage a small team.

THE ROLE

·As Finance Manager you will assumeresponsibility for co-ordinating the day to day operations of the business,specifically the administration, and finance functions and to ensure thateffective support is provided to the entire management team.

·Manage the company’s finance and accountingfunctions including payroll

·Liaise with Government bodies and banks etc withregard to all legislative returns and communications (both financial andstatistical).

·Ensure the company’s procedure in wages andsalaries is effective and that all necessary records are maintained and allreports are forwarded to legislative body as required.

·Provide an effective Credit Control service tothe company.

·Ensure good management of Cash flow.

·With the Managing Director, review and improvecompany procedures and systems and develop more effective approaches tomanagement information gathering.

·Prompt analysis and resolution of supplierqueries including the timely reconciliation of supplier statements;

·Management of the weekly/ monthly payment run,using manual and electronic payment systems as required; including but notlimited to, production of cheques, remittances, notifications of invoices onquery and postage to suppliers;

·Maintenance of Accounts Payable on the accountssystem

·Receive incoming cash, cheque or BACS andprocess on to the system;

·Efficiently administer the collection offinances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices andissuing credit notes;

·Day to day management of the front office.

THE PERSON

·QualifiedAccounts Technician or a Part-Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within industry

·Excellentcommunication skills, both written and verbal

·Enjoysdealing with people and attending and contributing to weekly managementmeetings

·ExcellentIT skills and Sage proficient

·Able tomanage and motivate a small team

·Able towork closely with external Accountant to enable the smooth running of theFinance Function

·Enjoysworking in a busy, varied environment

·Lookingfor a long term career with a growing company with the ability to take on extraresponsibility as the role expands in the future

·Interestedin continuous improvement and development of systems and processes.

SALARY

A Salary up to £40k(negotiable) will be on offer to the successful candidate.
