About the GPhC

We regulate pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and pharmacies in Great Britain. It’s our role to make sure people receive safe and effective pharmacy care and have trust in pharmacy. We are seeking three Recently Registered Pharmacy Technicians who will make recommendations as part of a team on the content, quality, and nature of education and training for Pharmacy Technician and support staff courses/qualifications.

The role

Accreditation team Panel Members use their expertise to ensure that education and training courses and qualifications are fit for purpose, through rigorous application of the GPhC’s education and training standards, making judgements on the basis of evidence.

We are seeking to recruit Recently Registered Pharmacy Technician individuals with experience of collaborative decision making, who are deft at considering written and verbal evidence in a balanced way and who can apply knowledge and experience to decision making in a fair and transparent manner. 

  • Are you a GPhC Recently RegisteredPharmacy Technician with under two years’ experience? 
  • Did you undertake the ‘combined’ Pharmacy Technician qualification/course for the purpose of registration with the GPhC? 
  • Do you have an active interest and/or involvement in the education and training of Pharmacy Technician and/or support staff?
  • Do you have experience of collaborative decision making in a regulatory, educational, health care, or other relevant environment? 
  • Can you articulate views clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, demonstrating attention to detail and a high level of accuracy? 
  • Can you listen and understand alternative perspectives in a high-pressure environment?

Pharmacy technician and support staff events are held predominantly by videoconference (remote) with some onsite at various venues around the UK throughout the academic year. Onsite events are likely to include overnight stays of one or more nights and will involve travel. As a guide a team member’s role will involve between 2 and 6.5 days per event which includes desktop review of a provider’s submission and associated documentation, question formation, attendance at the event, and follow up work such as reviewing drafted reports and response to conditions/recommendations. The role will of course be remunerated.
