£13,255 - £14,516 Actual (£26,510 - £29,033 FTE)

(Teaching days Tues am / Wed am / Thursday All Day)

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join a well-established employability centred course within Newbury College.

Achieve is an established course with a proven track record of progressing students onto mainstream College courses or employment and training.

The key requirements of the role are to plan, prepare and deliver teaching to students with mild and sometimes complex learning needs and behaviours and be responsible for the effective organisation and delivery of this Course. We need someone who is fun, creative, with a flexible approach to teaching. Forward-thinking, inspirational and able to respond to challenging behaviour with sensitivity and resilience.

You will also be expected to lead and participate in team meetings and to ensure the consistent delivery of teaching across the department, working with and supporting the progression and career coaches that accompany the programme. Applicants should have a strong understanding of employment as well as teaching students with needs.

We are a supportive college, priding ourselves on the development of individuals. Achieve students often join the course unsure of career pathways and become more confident and assured, often achieving College or employment! This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking to move into teaching, or someone who is an experienced lecturer.

You must have:

  • Experience of teaching or working with students with needs.
  • Related qualification (minimum level 2)
  • L2 English and Maths
  • Employability experience

It would be beneficial if you also have:

  • L4 Education & Training Award
  • BASE (British Association of Supported employment) qualification
  • Assessor Qualification
  • 2 years teaching experience
  • Mentoring/coaching qualification
  • Internal Verifiers Qualification (IQA)
