Job title: Volunteer and Activities Coordinator – Social Prescribing

Responsible to: Integrated Plus Project Manager

Hours of work: 37 hours per week.
To be worked weekdays and some evenings and occasional weekends. Dudley CVS does not pay overtime, but gives time off in lieu.

Salary range: £32,076 aligned to NJC

Pension: Employer contribution 6% after probationary period of 6 months, minimum employee contribution 4%

Location: You will be based in offices in Brierley Hill and will be happy to work from a range of settings using mobile devices.

Travel expenses: Paid at equivalent NJC casual user rates, monthly in arrears.

Holidays: 25 days per year (plus Bank holidays)

Requirement: A full driving license with access to own transport is required. Travel expenses will be paid at equivalent NJC casual user rates, monthly in arrears.

Duration: This is a 12 months rolling contract.  Funding is confirmed at the end of each year.

DBS checks will be required for this post as at times you will be required to work with vulnerable people.

Main purpose of job

As a Volunteer and Activities Coordinator – Social Prescribing, you will ensure that the voluntary and community sector (VCS) is involved in and central to integrated care in Dudley borough. You will encourage local people to support social prescribing through volunteer-led activity and support the voluntary sector to develop and deliver a range of community wellbeing activities. You will ensure that the voluntary and community sector is viewed as a credible, valued and equal partner in integrated care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the VCS to develop and deliver a range of community-based wellbeing activities in which Social Prescribing Link Workers can refer people into.
  • Oversee and manage the social prescribing grants programme which will support voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) to develop and deliver a range of community wellbeing activities.
  • Develop and manage volunteering activity in social prescribing.
  • Encourage and support people to become Experts by Experience.
  • Organise and deliver a number of events to raise the profile of social prescribing and the VCS.
  • Support the Social Prescribing Manager to evidence outcomes and impact of the social prescribing grants fund, funded activities and volunteer-led support.
