Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust is looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join their Active Schools Team.
As an Active Schools Co-ordinator you would work with schools to develop and support the delivery of high quality and inclusive extra-curricular sport and physical activity
opportunities for children and young people.
You would achieve this by working with a wide variety of partners while also recruiting, developing and co-ordinating a network of volunteers, coaches and leaders. The team deploy an inclusive approach across all programmes by reducing barriers to participation and working with partners to provide targeted supports where there is a need. This exciting and varied remit requires someone with:
- A passion for making a difference to the lives of children and young people in West Dunbartonshire.
- Strong project management skills.
- A friendly, approachable and outgoing personality.
- The ability to motivate others and develop positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- An appreciation of the impact sport and physical activity can have on equality, diversity & inclusion.
- Creative, resilient and committed to work as a team.
In addition to the above, you are required to be degree educated or be able to demonstrate extensive relevant experience of working in sport, education and/or project management.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council
Responsibilities
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
