8.30am – 4pm Monday to Friday
I am looking for an experienced Activity Co-ordinator to work in a lovely day centre on the outskirts of Northampton. The day centre provides meaningful activities, care and support to young people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and complex needs.
The centre is set in several acres of beautiful countryside and prides itself on developing communication, life skills and work and outdoor skills that develop health and wellbeing.
In this post you will:
- Lead educational activity sessions based at the service and in the community
- Supervise other team members to include carrying out regular supervision sessions and appraisals
- Support people to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society
- Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of person-centred activity programmes
- Contribute to the assessment, recording and evidencing of the educational activity programmes. This may include providing evidence for educational qualifications such as City & Guilds or ASDAN
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes other staff, supported individuals, carers and families to ensure the delivery of a fully integrated service
- Act as a link person between supported individuals, their carers and the day centre
For this great post you will need:
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
- Experience of supervising staff
- Experience of implementing activity programmes with a strong emphasis on learning outcomes
- A background in providing training
- A full UK driving licence
