Role: To be responsible for ensuring that residents have a full and varied programme of recreational and social activities which are meaningful and enhance their daily lives.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Through discussion with residents identify their specific requirements
To ensure activities are provided which reflect residents` personal choice and capabilities
To support residents during recreational and social activities
To attend meetings as requested by the organisation
To maintain the home as a pleasant, friendly and secure place to live in.
To maintain high standards of practice and report any suspicion of poor practice
To act at all times in a professional manner
To answer telephone calls and deal with visitors to the home in a polite and courteous manner
To be aware of safety when carrying out duties
To ensure appropriate risk assessments are in place and monitor and review them.
To maintain a safe environment
To maintain confidentiality in accordance with the organisation`s policy.
To participate in a flexible rota which meets the needs of the residents
To participate in the supervision process
To positively market the services both internally and externally
To maintain records which are accurate, legible, current and in line with legislation and the requirements of the home
To attend training as required
To have regard to Health and Safety issues at work at all times
In liaison with colleagues to promote Equality of Opportunity and anti-discriminatory activity throughout the home.
