Activities Organiser

To provide instruction (verbal and non-verbal) to patients on a range of activities as part of the activities program To develop a rapport with patients, to encourage and motivate them to participate in activity (in either group work or individual work) To contribute to the development and implementation of a creative and innovative activities program responsive to the varying needs of the patient group To maintain and update activity plan on the ward and allocate time to organise activity over a 7 day period and for periods of absence To observe general behaviour, abilities and responses of patients and report them verbally to the multi-disciplinary team and within the electronic patient record To co-assist qualified staff members in therapeutic group work with patients. To maintain safe, effective and timely clinical records To keep the Occupational Therapist/Senior Staff Nurse/Unit Manager informed of all ongoing matters relating to activity-based work. To be involved in evaluation of group activities as required To manage own time effectively Attend relevant department and ward meetings as directed
