Activity Co-ordinator
Home-based with travel across the Dundee Area
Overview
Our dementia support services are designed to help those who live with dementia to keep up the lifestyle they enjoy for as long as possible and to offer some comfort and support when they’re facing unfamiliar or difficult situations.
We’re currently looking for an Activity Co-ordinator to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis.
The Role
As an Activity Co-ordinator, you will organise and deliver activities and support groups for people living with dementia and their carers.
Specifically, you will design, prepare and deliver stimulating and fun activities for groups across the Dundee area on a weekly basis.
You will prepare and set up sessions, arrange refreshments and meals and co-ordinate and support volunteers, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service in line with relevant safety regulations.
Additionally, you will support the Service Manager to develop new groups across the area.
Working Hours
This is a permanent, part-time position, working 15 hours per week across three days.
What you’ll need
- Experience of delivering activities within a group setting
- Knowledge and experience of dementia (gained from personal or professional experience)
- An understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
- Knowledge of how to safeguard vulnerable adults
- A full, valid driving licence (and access to a vehicle with business insurance - mileage reimbursed)
Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers would be beneficial to your application.
