Job description

 

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Administration Apprentice to give their support to the Prevention Team in a busy and dynamic work environment.

 

 

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently at times and also as part of a larger team. Producing high quality information that helps make the community of Warwickshire safer. You will need to be well organised and apply good communication skills as well as effectively use a range of software packages.

 

 

 

As an Administration Apprentice within the team you will:

 

 

  • Assist with routine administrative systems and procedures that support the operation of working within the team. Including general office duties, to provide a frontline customer service and resolving general enquiries.
  • Organise, process and facilitate the bookings of meetings and events in liaison with other relevant officers and outside agencies / bodies and take minutes /notes as required, reproduce and recirculate them in a format that is easily understood. 
  • Receive, sort and distribute incoming/outgoing mail and to assist in the processing of email traffic.
  • Send out routine communications, issue reminders and chase responses.
  • Undertake a range of routine tasks specific to the service area, prioritising them as directed and working within approved procedures.
  • Undertake routine financial processes including checking stock level and raising orders/requisitions in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Collate, record, store and retrieve data and information as required.
  • Interact professionally when dealing with colleagues and customers. 

 

 

 

You will need to:

  • Be comfortable talking to people and ask them questions
  • Think logically but also be creative with solutions
  • Be able to work as part of a team with a variety of different people
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a car.
