An opportunity exists in the Council's Street Scene Services for a temporary Administration Assistant for 9 months (with possible extension) to cover maternity leave at our Newton Bar Wakefield Depot.
What will be expected from me?
The Postholder will be required to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:
- To be an ambassador for the Council when dealing with all stakeholders.
- To be self-motivated.
- The ability to assess problems and provide practical solutions.
- To have the ability to prioritise conflicting demands
- To display good numeracy and literacy skills
- To have the ability to multi-task and display a flexible working approach
What I might be doing?
The post holder as part of their roles and responsibilities will:
- Undertake administrative duties on specific aspects of the work of Street Scene Services under the direction of senior staff.
- Participate in the team working approach to the allocation of duties within Street Scene Services.
- Contribute to the maintenance of good employee relations within the Street Scene Service.
- Work within recognised safe systems of work at all times.
- Deal with telephone/email enquiries received by the service.
- Update service requests directly into the Councils ICT systems.
- Responsible for checking and allocating enquiries from the group mail boxes on a daily basis and ensure appropriate communications are made.
- Responsible for the production and distribution of daily record sheets and attendance records for front line operational staff.
Essential requirements:
- City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 in Office Administration or related subject.
- Minimum of 4 GCSE passes (A – C) including English and Maths.
