Your new role
Admissions Administrator
Temporary - Start ASAP £13 per hour plus holiday pay
5 days a week / Hybrid 2 days a week in the office/Initially office based
Hours are 36.25 per week.
Reporting to the Head of Admissions, you will provide excellent confidential administrative support to staff and students alike.
University admission experience is essential, along with knowledge of UCAS and university qualifications.
The work will be administrative work and you will be required to have good attention to detail for data entry, checking qualifications and inputting qualification details into the student information system, responding to queries via email, and general administrative work. You will be required to have excellent working knowledge of visa / immigration regulations for overseas students.
You will be dealing with incoming communications from prospective international students (mail, electronic mail and telephone enquiries) with diplomacy, tact and discretion; drafting responses and taking other appropriate follow-up action as required.
You will be an excellent communicator and able to communicate at all levels. This is a diverse and busy role which would suit a candidate who is flexible, able to hit the ground running and equally, someone who will pitch in when required during peak times to support team members.
Excellent IT skills are required as you will be providing slick administrative support across the department.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an experienced administrator that has previously worked within the HE sector. This is a very varied administrative role. Therefore, you will be required to be both flexible and adaptable.
University admission experience is essential, along with knowledge of UCAS and university qualifications.
Previous administration experience within the HE sector and experience of working with students and academics is essential, along with a professional manner. Excellent communication skills and a polite and friendly approach are also essential.
