Background
The Admissions Team sits within the Directorate of Marketing and Communications.

Within the Directorate, Admissions delivers a high-quality service to enquirers, applicants, and their advisers. Admissions is responsible for:

  • Operating fair, transparent and responsive admissions and selection policies to deliver an excellent applicant experience;
  • Managing admissions processes to achieve agreed student number recruitment targets;
  • Providing professional leadership and advice on all admissions activities including to those parts of the University that have delegated responsibility in these areas;
  • Planning and managing confirmation and clearing.
  • Overseeing and contributing to ongoing UKVI Tier 4 compliance activities.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint an Admissions Officer to join a small team dealing with applications from undergraduate and postgraduate students to a portfolio of courses that fall under our partnerships provision. The post holder will provide a professional admissions service, involving the receipt, scrutiny and processing of all applications relating to the assigned University audience, and assessing them in relation to agreed criteria and timescales.

The postholder will work closely with key colleagues across the Directorate and University including within the UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit, International Partnerships and Development and Registry Services. The postholder will also need to engage with external partnership providers.
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is hybrid.

The Person
You will be a team player with relevant experience in a busy administrative environment. We are looking for someone who has excellent customer service skills and is able to contribute to the wider team whilst working independently. A high level of attention to detail and good communication skills are essential requirements, as is the ability to quickly acquire and utilise knowledge of University and sector procedures, structures and regulatory frameworks.

Desirable requirements: An interest in working in the Higher Education sector, particularly in admissions, would also be welcomed.
