We are looking for a Team Manager to join our dynamic and innovative Regional Adoption Agency and help us make a positive difference to adoptive families across our region.
Children and young people who have been adopted may at times, face day to day challenges both at home and in school. As the Adoption Support Team Manager, you will be responsible for shaping and defining how we support our families through the range of services we already offer including our triage and multi-disciplinary services as well as assessing families who require access to the Adoption Support Fund. We are looking for an inspiring and passionate team leader, who will consider new approaches and processes with their team, so when our families contact us for help or advice, we can offer them the best outcome that meets their needs efficiently and timely.
We firmly believe that adoptive families benefit hugely from having support from other adoptive families and young people. With over 700 families on our active Adoption Support database, the Adoption Support team regularly host workshops and guest speakers to empower parents to learn more about managing childhood trauma or attachment through therapeutic parenting as well as life story work, educational webinars on behaviours, autism and FASD and joint Virtual School opportunities. We also organise a wide range of social events such as meet ups and family fun days, to encourage families and young people to connect and support each other. Your role as the Adoption Support Team Manager, will support the team to manage these opportunities and look to develop further initiatives to support our families and young
people across the Adopt South region.
A degree level professional, you will have knowledge and experience in a children or adult’s care setting, where you can evidence a holistic, caring and proactive approach. You will ensure the team hear and respond to the voice of parents and children and always offer a compassionate and receptive service to ensure our activities align with our high expectations of accountability and responsibility to our families and local authority partners.
You will have exceptional communication skills, uphold our equality, diversity and inclusive values, and the ability to relate to all different families and young people as well as your colleagues at Adopt South. You will have proven management experience with excellent management, tracking and reporting capabilities. A good understanding of Child Protection legislation is important to the role, as is the motivation to grow through personal and professional development. Above all, you will be determined to make a difference to our families and young people.
