The Post holder is responsible for the specialist rehabilitation service provided by Adult Audiology, across four of our main sites, including, Tinnitus and Vestibular rehabilitation and Hearing Therapy , reporting to the Head of Service. As a member of the Audiology management board, the post holder will report to the Audiology Management Board and Head of Audiology, supporting the Operational lead and deputise for senior management as required. A Band 8a Rehabilitation Lead is a highly experienced clinician, with advanced clinical and counselling skills. They manage a significant caseload of often complex patients, utilising advanced clinical reasoning strategies, treatment planning, and implementation of clinical standards within each pathway. The Rehabilitation lead contributes to service development by being aware of the national and local agendas. The post holder also takes a lead on compliments, complaints, customer feedback and PPI for the service.
• Responsible for the delivery of the specialist rehabilitation service ensuring the highest standards of service provision.
• Work as part of the Audiology management board, supporting the Head of Service and Operational Lead in the development of departmental strategy, plans and objectives.
• Responsible for management of the complaints process and patient feedback within the service.
• Continually assess the needs of the specialist rehabilitation service and its users. Working with the HOS, contribute to, plan for, and respond to changes in need, including staffing levels and changes in practice.
• In conjunction with Audiology Head of Service, assist in the formulation, assessment and modification of policies and procedures in line with changing demand for services. Interpret and implement Trust and NHS policies and clinical guidelines within the department.
• To provide a Highly Specialist expert service for adults with acquired complex hearing problems, Tinnitus, Vestibular/Balance Disorders, Obscure Auditory Dysfunction (OAD), Hyperacusis, Misophonia and associated disorders
• To comply with the Trust and nationally recognised standards with regard to consent principles and to the correct recording of patient interventions.
• In conjunction with the Audiology Head of Service and Diagnostic Lead, to be responsible for the provision of all specialist rehabilitation clinics provided by the service.
