Salary An opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic Optometrist to join our multidisciplinary team of Consultant Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists, Ophthalmic Nurses and Health Care colleagues providing Eye Care services across Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
There are opportunities to provide core and specialist Optometry clinics on a part- time basis depending on experience and service need.
These sessions would suit an Optometrist who has specialist experience within a hospital setting and post graduate experience in fitting Contact Lenses.
The department is keen on professional development and supports the teaching of junior doctors, physician associates, pre-reg Optometrists, Orthoptic Undergraduates and other healthcare professionals so a teaching qualification would be desirable.
The Ophthalmology, Orthoptic and Optometry Departments are based within Calderdale Royal Hospital (Halifax) and Acre Mills Out-patients (opposite Huddersfield Royal Infirmary)

We provide a large numbers of ophthalmic subspecialties, emergency and routine care and a wide range of diagnostic services.
You will be required to provide a range of Specialist Optometric services primarily within the Contact Lens Service which provides the opportunity to undertake complex lens fitting as well as undertaking training to enable advancement of clinical skills to support consultant cornea clinics. Opportunities to take part in active audit and research will also arise.
