Job Title: Advanced Practitioner in Ultrasound
Location: Various locations (Manchester, Stockport based) Community Ultrasound NHS
Salary: £44,500 per annum + (Negotiable based on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent.
Shift Pattern: Full and part time hours available.
Job Summary:
- To provide general abdominal, pelvic, small parts and MSK (if appropriately trained) ultrasound scanning services in conjunction with other Sonographers and health care professionals.
- To independently perform ultrasound scanning duties to the required standards of Beacon Medical and to produce a clinical report for each ultrasound scan undertaken.
- To undertake any administrative duties that may be necessary for speedy progression of patients and patient results.
- To actively participate in matters concerning clinical governance, clinical audit and assessment.
- To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
- To adhere to company policy and procedures in terms of health and safety, data protection and confidentiality.
- To give full co-operation in any investigations of a complaint or untoward incident
- To ensure that professional and technical knowledge/expertise is kept up to date and to maintain a portfolio to show evidence of personal professional development.
- To be able to work independently within a clearly defined set of Beacon Medical protocols and make informed clinical decisions .
- For each examination undertaken, a comprehensive diagnostic report will be formulated.
- Support the pharmacy department to deliver an excellent medicine management service to all customers, supervising the procurement, preparation, dispensing and distribution of medicines.
- To provide pharmaceutical expertise and input to the care of the patients.
- To facilitate the daily running of the pharmacy department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants and customers.
- Provide clinical input with respect to medicines to all patients.
- Ensure accurate and timely charging.
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory, professional and best practice frameworks.
Qualification & Experience:
- Degree in Pharmacy
- Registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (any existing or pending Fitness to Practice issues must be declared on application)
- Postgraduate Diploma relevant to hospital pharmacy practice is desirable but not essential
- Post registration experience of 2-3 years
- Clinical pharmacy experience in a secondary acute setting, or proven ability to transfer clinical skills into an acute setting.
Essential Criteria:
- Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Radiography (or equivalent).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
- Registered with the HCPC and On the RCT register
- Eligibility to reside and work in the UK.
- To be able to work independently in all main areas of Ultrasound practice.
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of ultrasound procedures.
- 2 years post qualification experience gained in NHS trust practice.
- Ability to organise and manage ultrasound lists and priorities.
- Ability and willingness to work within the company performance framework and quality targets.
