The dynamic Voice and Participation Service is dedicated to amplifying the voices of those supported by Wiltshire Council’s People’s Directorate. We engage with individuals, listening to their views and experiences to drive co-production initiatives. With multiple participations workstreams including Children and Young People Voice, SEND Voice, Family Voice, Young Carers Voice, and Youth Justice Voice, we empower individuals to shape the services that impact their lives. Additionally, we recruit and support volunteers in various roles, providing vital befriending and mentoring to children and Young people.
As an Advocacy and Young Carers Manager, you will spearhead the creation of a new service, playing a pivotal role in shaping its direction. Your responsibilities will include managing a team of three full-time advocates, recruiting and training volunteer advocates, and overseeing an effective referral process. Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators will be integral to your role, ensuring the continuous improvement of service delivery. Additionally, you will manage a Young Carers in Schools Worker, supporting secondary schools in effectively catering to the needs of Young Carers within their settings. A crucial aspect of your role will be establishing an impactful Young Carers voice and participation initiative, empowering this potentially vulnerable group to shape the services that affect their lives.
We are looking for a candidate who is a trailblazer in setting new initiatives and capable of getting projects off the ground. Fearless and unafraid of trying new approaches to achieve positive outcomes. Inspirational and motivational, able to rally others around a shared vision. Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. A strong communicator, adept at articulating a vision and building rapport with senior staff members.
