Job description

Quality Engineer 6 month contract

Location: Worcestershire

Shift : Day shift

An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a world-renowned manufacturer in the aerospace and defence sector. They are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their expanding team for  6 month contract.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing highly complex process sampling systems, procedures, statistical techniques, and quality systems. They will develop process improvement and cost control programs throughout the site, performs review of customer/industry/internal specifications to ensure processes meet/exceed requirements and provide technical support to operations, customers, and suppliers as needed.

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who ideally has the following skills:

  • Completes Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Define, specifies, and implements quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.
  • Provides technical advice and counsel to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects.
  • Provides technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Assures that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Prepares corrective action responses necessary.
  • Prepares and present material to customer representatives and/or facility employees as required.
  • Provides technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of machining, assembly operations, gauging, SPC, APQP, and quality assurance systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) is preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr.) is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience, 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace  environment is desired.
  • Knowledge and understanding of measurement system analysis (MSA), lean manufacturing and 6 sigma.
