Great opportunity in Wimbledon for an After School Nanny to work with a lovely family and paid a competitive rate!
Job Summary: A lovely family with a 1 year old, are looking for an afterschool Nanny to look after little one. The ideal candidate will be reliable, responsible, fun, proactive, caring and educated. Teamwork and communication is also important as the family are very laid back and approachable, and appreciate a candidate who can keep them in the loop, and be open and honest. This role is sole charge, as both parents are at work for the hours worked.
General duties:
- Responsible for the safety, well-being, care and development of the child.
- Collecting the child from nursery
- Giving healthy meals and snacks if baby doesn’t eat well at nursery (so meal prep might be required, but happy for meals to be cooked and frozen in batches)
- Evening routine (giving a bottle, changing nappies, washing, bathing the child, story time and putting the child in bed) – though one parent will try to be home and do story time and bedtime, but will need coverage in case that is not possible due to work
- Occasionally when nursery is closed, or baby is out of nursery due to sicknesses
- Taking care of baby, including feeding, bottles, and naps (baby follows a strict schedule and is happy with it)
- Light housekeeping for the baby. Tidying up the bedroom and play areas. Laundry for the baby (including organising clothes, changing beddings etc.)
- Cleaning up after the baby (bottles, bowls, eating area etc.). If we run out of small items for baby (eg. nappies, or snacks) – help to buy and get reimbursed (no ‘big shop’ / family groceries buying required). The family has a cleaner who comes once or twice a week.
- Normally the baby would have meals at nursery, but in case he doesn’t eat much there, then the family would like him to be given small meals at home. When he’s out of nursery they will need meal prep. Not a must to cook for family, but would be fantastic if the candidate could help (e.g. if one parent manages to get home to put baby in bed, then help with meal prep for family, or making meals)
Candidate requirements:
- DBS check required at offer stage & and a current First Aid Certificate
- Cook basic meals
- Flexibile to travel with family in future but not essential
- Ideally Norland trained, Chiltern or Childcare NVQ level 3
- Organised and punctual
- Warm and loving nature
- Energetic and proactive, and fun with children
