SalaryLooking for a role that will see you support a well known and popular yachting brand as an Aftersales Engineer, giving you the opportunity to support a strong fleet and travel regulalrly into Europe?
SYR are working with a returning client of ours to seek an Aftersales Technician to support their superyacht brand, known for their beauty and style. With the employing brand based here in the UK, you will split your time between the UK shipyard and with customers vessels across the EU, expecting 5 or more short trips per month.
Reporting into the Aftersales Manager, this role will be hugely important in keeping the fleet active and in service, with the following duties:
- Offering in-house technical support over the phone and in person to captains and owners
- Engaging with the vessel prior to its delivery to the customer to acquaint yourself with specific systems and parts
- Being present at handover to offer technical advise and expertise and troubleshoot if required
- Work with the factory and third party suppliers throughout the warranty period to ensure any warranty concerns or repairs are accurately dealt with in a timely manner
- Keep detailed reports on customer vessels, accessibly by both shipyard and supplier.
- Travel to support vessels on repair and warranty matters, using local representatives where possible
In a candidate we're seeking someone who has a strong electrical and mechanical understanding and is keen and willing to take on a role that will involve regular travel. With a minimum of an AEC Engineering qualification, you'll be comfortable to work on yachts up to 100ft and have a current and extensive understanding of drivetrains, mechanical and electrical systems used on current vessels. Outgoing and confident, you'll be able to deal with owners and captains, suppliers and shipyards to ensure the correct outcome for all involved.
