What we do at Jacobs
We're invested in you and your success. Our People & Places Solutions business focuses on providing solutions to future challenges such as climate change, the need for renewable energy, low carbon economies, transportation, and material resource and waste management. While we shape some of the very largest and most challenging landmark projects in the UK, we also deliver local projects that protect communities. Our Graduate Development Programme is a structured 2-year scheme, aiming to progress Graduates into global project leaders and problem solvers. We provide the framework, mentoring and experience, to help you maximise your skills and ambition across a variety of locations and markets. On joining our scheme in September 2024, you'll rapidly gain knowledge of how our company works, where our motivations lie and, most importantly, where you can make innovative contributions to our projects and help us take a step towards a more connected and sustainable world.
About the opportunities
Jacobs Transportation has an enviable reputation in Highways, Rail and Aviation. Our internationally respected Aviation team are active at all major UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, with a growing portfolio of overseas commissions. You will be part of a friendly, dynamic, diverse and international team where we work in a flexible manner, but all share the passion for aircraft and airports.
As a Graduate Airport Planner you will work with other planning experts and specialists in the team, reporting to a team lead. On occasions you may be required to liaise with clients and essential stakeholders.
Here's what you'll need:

  • An ability to adapt and prioritise appropriately whilst working on a number of varied projects at once
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply skills to the solution of real-world problems
  • A well-rounded person - have you travelled around the world? Worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us - we're looking for people with interesting stories and experiences!
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
What else we provide
  • A flexible workstyle, embracing a hybrid working pattern and supporting those who need to balance work/life commitments a bit differently than others
  • Free single medical cover and digital GP service
  • Reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships
  • An inclusive and diverse work environment, embracing the variety of disciplines, cultures, backgrounds and lifestyles of our employees through our Jacobs Employee Networks
  • A focus on safety, health, and wellbeing, prioritising our people through a culture of caring and positive mental health champion network
  • Opportunities to give back to our communities through our Collectively program, incorporating matched-funding, paid volunteering time and charitable donations.
