Reporting to the Alarms Enablement Manager, the primary function of this role is to reduce the risk of pollution events occurring by utilising available data from the company telemetry systems, WMS and asset history, in conjunction with risk assessment tools to surface potential risk and instigating appropriate actions to manage, reduce and remove that risk.

This exciting role will output short term risk reduction plans, identify opportunities to apply smart-alarms, identify the need to amend telemetry pictures and to escalate high risk items where necessary. There is also an expectation that this role will support Tactical Operations core functions during periods of extreme wet weather when requested to do so.

What does it take to be an Alarm Lifecycle Resolution Engineer?

You'll be a self-starter who is comfortable with helping to define the role and look for opportunities to expand and enhance it's scope, as well as:

  • Having a good understanding of the business - particularly Water Recycling and Water operational activity
  • Good understanding of the IRIS telemetry system
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to produce and run reports based on IRIS & SAP outputs
  • Able to communicate with stakeholders at multiple levels in different specialisms
  • Able to work collaboratively and build strong relationships even while working remotely
  • Able to embrace change and to look for opportunities to optimise your role and the functions of the wider team and accept that the scope of the role will continue to evolve and develop over time
