The opportunity
Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences is a recognised centre of excellence in the UK and has established a national and international reputation for the quality of its academic and research work in the areas of sport and health sciences. Based across the Cyncoed and Llandaff campuses, we provide a broad range of vocationally focused academic programmes and pride ourselves on good student feedback and excellent graduate employability.
You will provide a range of administrative support to healthcare clinics and associated academic activities undertaken in the Allied Clinical Health Hub. This includes undertaking administrative processes and providing a reception service for patients, staff and students for all clinics and associated teaching areas within the Allied Clinical Health Hub.

Key duties will include:
• Assist with all administrative aspects of the running of the clinics including booking management, processing patient details, and liaising with clinic supervisors.
• Maintain confidential clinical information in accordance with appropriate UK GDPR and Freedom of Information legislation.
• Be the first point of contact for patients, clients, staff, and students attending or supporting the clinical services offered by the Allied Clinical Health Hub. Provide excellent customer service to enhance the student and patient experience.
• Handle cash and other forms of payment from fee-paying patients and ensure that such is appropriately accounted for in consultation with the Clinic Co-ordinator.
What we are looking for
• GCSE grade A – C in 5 subjects including maths and English, or equivalent level of qualification.
• Knowledge of administration processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and ability to learn bespoke software.
• Methodical with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and organisational skills.
• Ability and confidence working with people at all levels.
• Skilled at time management and ability to be flexible in approach.
• Ability to produce reports, spreadsheets and other information that may be used to advise and inform others.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and innovations and apply them to day-to-day tasks to improve efficiency.
• Experience of maintaining effective and efficient records.
