We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Alumni Engagement team as our new Alumni Engagement Assistant. The role holder is accountable for providing critical administrative assistance to ensure the successful delivery of alumni relations programming and services to all Cambridge Alumni worldwide.

The role holder will need to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work to ensure the smooth day-to-day working of the programme, whilst also overseeing reception duties of the wider Development and Alumni Relations office. This is a new role for our office, which means there is a lot of opportunity for you to make your mark and put into place administrative support that enables the team to thrive.

Successful candidates will have experience in administration or similar roles and be able to demonstrate a real passion for providing outstanding customer service. You will be an excellent written and verbal communicator, possess outstanding organisational skills, have immaculate attention to detail, and know how to prioritise your work in a busy office where no two days are the same.

Development and Alumni Relations is the alumni relations and fundraising arm of the University. We are accountable for (1) raising major philanthropic gifts from alumni and non-alumni (2) Communicating persuasively to inspire, inform, and engage our audiences (3) Building links and encouraging lifelong relationships between the University and its alumni and supporters (4) Ensuring that the worldwide community of over 320,000 alumni are well-equipped to be effective ambassadors and advocates for Cambridge.

We work collaboratively with colleagues throughout Collegiate Cambridge, including our 31 Colleges, Cambridge University Health Partners, and Cambridge in America, to promote positive relations with our alumni and supporters and generate philanthropic income.

This role is based in central Cambridge. We practice a hybrid working model and the successful candidate will be in the office for at least 3 days a week.

Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and subject to approval.
