The Ambition Coach role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ambition Coach to join our Tenants First team! As part of this post, you’ll identify, assess, and provide holistic, targeted support to customers, working towards the achievement of positive sustainable outcomes and provide expert advice and practical support to allow participants to move forwards.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Ambition Coach:
  • Support eligible participants through 1-2-1 meetings to review their situation and jointly set achievable objectives to assist the participant to move forward and achieve their goals.
  • Work with participants to understand their barriers and refer to partner organisations to receive interventions.
  • Ensure paperwork and evidence is received in a timely manner and in accordance with the UKSPF guidance.
  • Maintain robust information in line with service requirements to enable effective case management and performance management.
  • Undertake research activity alongside participants to find training, workshops or employment as identified in action plan.
  • Provide expert advice and support in the production of CVs, interview skills and completing applications.
  • To work alongside the extended Tenants First team to ensure a holistic approach is achieved.
  • Empower participants with employability skills post programme.
  • Keep up to date with changes to legislation and practice i.e., welfare reform and the local labour market, in order to offer appropriate advice and assistance to tenants.
  • Attend team meetings, giving updates on caseloads, issues and concerns and provide a weekly review of caseload and ‘good news’ stories.
  • Work in close partnership with the BMBC to ensure a consistent approach, ensuring participants all receive the same level of service. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external service providers e.g., Housing Management, Lettings, Income, Social Care, Safer Neighbourhood Service, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Substance Misuse Services etc.
  • Safeguard the health and safety of all persons under your control in accordance with the provisions in the Health and Safety Legislation and Berneslai Home and BMBC codes of practice and procedure.
What we’re looking for in our Ambition Coach:
  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent and relevant experience
  • Ability to communicate with residents and colleagues effectively.
  • Ability to provide customer focussed and responsive services.
  • Ability to produce accurate case management information, including action plans, legal documentation, etc.
  • Ability to problem solve, innovate, plan, organise, overcome barriers, and implement solutions effectively.
  • Ability to work within a team, plan and manage own workload, achieve agreed targets and objectives, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet the needs of the post.
