Approved Mental Health Professional

Team - Calderdale AMHP Hub

Location: Halifax Calderdale

Rate- £45 per hour

Hours - 4 Days per week

An Approved Mental Health Professional is required for Calderdale Council in Halifax to work four days a week.

Duties Include:

• Applying for warrants, Section 29 Nearest Relative displacements.
• Conduct reviews under S117 of the Mental Health Act.
• Ensuring that the requirements of the MHA 1983 (as amended 2007) are met, it’s Code of Practice followed and that service users rights under the ECHR (Human Rights Act 1998) are upheld
• Arrange and carry out Mental Health Act Assessments on behalf of Calderdale Council

This position is an office based Duty AMHP based in Halifax for at least 3 days a week.

• DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
• Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
• Possess knowledge of service needs.
• Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
• Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
• Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
