Analyst (Multiple Posts)

We have a great Analytics and Performance Insights team which is responsible for analysing most aspects of the student lifecycle and overall University performance - including but not limited to recruitment, registration, progression, differential attainment, completion, student satisfaction, and UK and international rankings – to enable academic and administrative leaders to deliver a first rate experience at Nottingham, and to enable the University as a whole to meet its strategic priorities. The team uses a mix of data discovery, blending, analysis, reporting and visualisation tools and technologies, such as Tableau, Alteryx and SQL. Your previous experience in this specific software is not essential as we will provide training and support your development.
You are a motivated, curious, problem-solving individual who can see the big picture while still paying attention to the finest detail, work to high standards, and like working within a team.
You will be highly proficient in exploring data in order to answer questions and solve problems, conducting rigorous analyses and taking full advantage of available tools for creating clear, engaging and understandable visualisations to help people make difficult decisions. You will be expected to be creative in overcoming difficult data issues, and comfortable with learning and becoming expert in new technologies.
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills to enable you build relationships with internal clients and partners. You will support them and the team by gathering and developing requirements and presenting analytical tools and reports. While you will be comfortable with getting deep into data, you will also be able to explain issues to non-specialists in a clear and concise way.
We are recruiting for two permanent positions. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 30 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may also be considered.
We support hybrid working with 2/3 days working remotely and on campus. We have a highly skilled and knowledgeable team who support each other’s training and development.
