Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analytical Technician to join our dynamic team at our Berkshire-based commercial laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology or a related field, with extensive hands-on experience in ELISA and PCR techniques. The Senior Analytical Technician will play a crucial role in conducting various analytical assays, contributing to research projects, and ensuring the highest quality standards in our laboratory operations.


Responsibilities
:


Perform complex analytical assays, primarily focused on ELISA and PCR techniques, accurately and efficiently.

Independently plan and execute experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and adapt protocols as needed.

Analyse, interpret, and document experimental data, maintaining accurate and detailed records.

Contribute to the design and optimization of experimental protocols and methodologies.

Provide technical guidance and training to junior laboratory staff as needed.

Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research projects and meet project milestones.

Assist in equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Stay current with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in analytical techniques.


Qualifications
:

Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.

Hands-on experience in a commercial laboratory setting.

Proficiency in ELISA and PCR techniques is essential.

Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and laboratory procedures.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges.

Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing accurate and reliable results.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.

Prior experience with driving is preferred due to the laboratory's location in Ascot.
