AWE is looking for Applied Analysis Engineers to work in the Test and Analysis Group within the Engineering function. It takes a special sort of person to work at AWE. What if that person was you?
The Applied Engineering team help underwrite the performance of the warhead through a combination of testing and computer simulation.
Role: Applied Analysis Engineers
Location: Reading Area
Closing date: 28th June 2024
Salary: £47,690 - £65,000 ( depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Successful Candidates will be responsible for:
  • Developing predictive models for experimental trials (for example, blast trials)
  • The post analysis of trials data and model comparison
  • Validation and Verification of trial and model results against requirements

Training and development will be provided as required.
Whilst not to be considered a check list, we would like candidates to be able to demonstrate some of the following:
  • Strong physics and/or engineering educational background (or equivalent)
  • A good grasp of mathematical and engineering concepts
  • An ability to solve physics and engineering problems
  • An ability to work as part of a team with multiple stakeholders

We would like to hear from candidates that could demonstrate knowledge and experience in some or all of the following:
  • Post analysis of large datasets
  • Use of MATLAB and/or simulation tools (CFD, FEA)
  • Blast modelling and/or testing
  • Scientific report writing

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas if required.
