Roles and Responsibilities:
* To provide Applied Science support, including core science concepts, microbiology, human biology and chemical analysis for Weston Health provisions.
* To deliver an exceptional student experience through outstanding teaching, learning and assessment leading to positive achievement outcomes and progression on to higher levels of study, employment, or apprenticeships.
* Tutoring of students, giving appropriate support to enable students to achieve their academic and vocational targets.
* Interviewing and giving guidance to potential students
* To plan, facilitate and supervise external activities and trips, including contributing to work experience planning.
* Contributing to the development and the continual improvement of courses, co-ordinating effectively with both staff and students.
Skills & experience
* Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
* Familiarity with the national curriculum of England (Plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate)
* Passion for teaching and commitment to educating a child
* A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
* Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
* Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
* A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
* A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check (for applicants who have never worked in UK) and no question regarding suitability to work with children
