Lane Head Nursery School

Apprentice Early Years Practitioner Level
35 hours per week, term time only + 5 Training days. 
Fixed Term Contract: 15 months

Our Federation offers a unique opportunity for a very special kind of Early Years Practitioner to work in a single phase school, as well as the chance to work alongside colleagues from other phases, in order to enhance your professional development.  
At Lane Head Nursery, we are now entering a really exciting phase in our school’s development. From September we will be offering places to 2 year olds as well as our 3-4 year old provision. We can offer more opportunities for career development over time and more CPD than ever before! We are a fully inclusive school and enjoy the challenge of meeting the needs of every child in a unique way. Our practice is recognised as exceptional. Our staff are too.

We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Level 2Early Years Practitioner who will inspire our children, ensuring they make good progress and enjoy learning. 
You need energy, resilience, strength of character and a professional curiosity in order to support our children’s needs which can be many and varied. We are looking for someone who understands how our youngest children learn – through play and to be able to provide quality adult play interactions with children to support their learning.

•    Have a working knowledge and experience of working with children with ADHD, ASD, SLD and MLD
•    Love working as part of a team 
•    Are able to use their own initiative, thinking creatively
•    Have GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
•    Are able to support children to be independent learners
•    Are keen to develop themselves and others
•    Are imaginative, energetic, enthusiastic and hardworking
•    Nurture and encourage children to fulfil their potential

Rates of pay:
The current National Minimum Wage for an Apprentice is £4.30 an hour. This rate applies to Apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices will be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over AFTER completing their first year. 
The minimum wage rates are £6.56 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £8.36 an hour for 21-24 year olds and £8.91 for anyone aged 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that is part of their apprenticeship.
