This is a fixed term post for 3 years.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Highways Maintenance Engineer.
This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop practical skills in highways maintenance while contributing to the upkeep of the Cities critical transportation infrastructure.
You will help with the Design and management and delivery of highway-related construction schemes, and the annual highway maintenance projects, ranging from preventative treatments to major reconstruction, to achieve quality, programme and financial targets meeting internal and external clients and stakeholder requirements.
You will help with the evaluation and authorisation of externally designed engineering schemes on behalf of internal and external clients to ensure the highway asset meets regional and national design specifications and safety standards.
You will adhere to Health and Safety management systems, processes and requirements ensuring full adherence to health, safety and environmental legislation, policy and best practice and safeguarding staff contractors and members of the public.
You will help with consultation, communication and liaison with clients and a wide range of i
nternal and external stakeholders including members of the public and elected Members to facilitate project delivery and maintain positive company reputation.
