Form of workWe have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team, based in Colwick, Nottingham.
As an Apprentice Maintenance Technician, you will receive on-the-job training to maintain a varied range of machinery and equipment unique to the blind manufacturing industry. Additionally, you will attend a day release college course over 48 months, studying manufacturing/ technical engineering in the production environment to NVQ levels 2/3.
Other elements of the role include:
- Production Machine Mechanics: Engaging in production mechanics, you will play a key role in ensuring the optimal functionality and efficiency of production machinery.
- General Site Task Maintenance: The completion of specific site tasks across all departments of the business, contributing to the overall operational excellence of the site.
- Workshop Organisation and Spares Inventory: Maintaining an efficient and well-organised workshop environment, whilst simultaneously supporting with the management of spares inventory.

- A desire to analyse and resolve fault conditions, uncovering the root causes, whilst ensuring an effective resolution.
- The drive and ability to learn the use of specialist tooling and equipment.
- Full awareness and commitment to Health and Safety.
- Ability to work in a production environment and prioritise workload accordingly.
- Capable of working in a calm methodical manner.
- Work well individually, and as part of a team.
- The ability to maintain excellent attention to detail in all aspects of your work.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, regularly updating progress to key stakeholders, whilst simultaneously fostering positive working relationships.
- The ability to use Continuous Improvement methodology to enhance effectiveness.
