Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

Bouygues UK have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor(starting June, College day release will start from September) to join a bustling and welcoming project team at the Oriel Project in London. The Oriel project is a new hospital currently under construction in central London (Borough of Camden). As part of the team, you will undertake various tasks related to building services engineering (Mechanical & Electrical aspects of a building). This apprenticeship offers valuable hands-on experience, allowing you to work alongside experienced professionals while contributing to a significant project

Education Criteria:

One of the educational levels required listed below :

• A Level DD
• BTEC National Diploma PPP
• Access to HE Diploma with 21 Merits
• Level 3 Apprenticeship in related subject
• Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points
• 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English (C or above) or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Willingness to work outside normal working hours to complete university work/further learning
• Interest in the Construction industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions
• Attention to detail

Job Purpose and Scope

• Observe subcontractor tender reviews and assist with M&E design costs
• Attend meetings with team and MEP Contractors for project planning and coordination
• Assist in reviewing Contractors' designs, programmes, and progress
• Learn to monitor and report on procurement and labour schedules
• Shadow experienced colleagues during Method / Risk / Health and Safety reviews
• Support monitoring and coordinating M&E design information flow
• Assist in preparing technical specifications, design reports, and innovative solutions
• Manage input to Building Information Modelling software for design work
