Apprentice Vehicle Technician

We are seeking an Apprentice Vehicle Technician, based at our Vans site in Milton Keynes, who is eager to learn and develop their skills in vehicle maintenance and repair. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a diverse fleet of vans, while receiving comprehensive training and support to achieve industry-recognized qualifications. As part of this role, you will be enrolled in an apprenticeship course, run by training provider. There will also be an opportunity for a full time permanent role upon successful completition of the apprenticeship.

Here's a flavour of what you'll be doing:

• Under the supervision of an Experienced Vehicle Mechanic, assisting with fault diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of Vehicles and other Company equipment, in a safe and economic manner
• Maintaining all tools and equipment used in the course of any such routine maintenance or repair work in a clean, tidy and safe condition
• Ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is the subject of an accurate and timely written report including details of parts used and time taken on a work record card
• Attending the designated training provider for classroom-based learning as and when required
• Ensuring all engineering areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times
• Reporting defective tools or workshop equipment to management immediately
• Other duties and projects as required by either the training programme or the management team, which may include onsite training under the supervision of Mobile Service Engineers
• Maintaining the security of assets under your control

We are looking for someone with:

• A keen interest in vehicle mechanics and the automotive industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Basic understanding of vehicle components and systems (preferred but not essential).
• Willingness to learn and complete the required training and qualifications.
• Good communication skills.
• GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English (preferred).
