Role

You will be required to develop and manage positive relationships with both apprentices and employers. This will include frequent communication with the apprentices, their employers and colleagues within the apprenticeship team to monitor and track progress and disseminate information, advice and guidance.

Every new apprenticeship cohort will require you to support your assigned employer company/ies and their learners as they apply and provide evidence of their eligibility for the programme. Once eligibility is confirmed you will be responsible for onboarding learners onto their apprenticeship programme and making sure my client and the learner/employer have all the information they need.

Once on programme you will be responsible for monitoring and managing data to inform learner progress through their apprenticeship. In doing this support apprenticeship staff with the provision of reports and good quality data on learner progress.

You will represent with your employers, promoting apprenticeships and other programmes, developing employer relationships. Feeding back business intelligence and any concerns to your manager and the wider apprenticeship team.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to meet our requirements to deliver on time, cost and quality in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Update mentors/line managers about the programme and their apprentice’s progress.
  • Become an important point of contact for both the employer and the apprentice.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with employers and encourage and facilitate further partnership with where appropriate.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating employer events, as required, ensuring the effective use of time and resources.
  • To undertake initial skills scans and assessments and work with the Teaching and Learning team to inform target setting for the apprentice.
  • Liaise with colleagues across our learning teams to maintain up-to-date information on apprentice progress for all elements of the apprenticeship programme including English and Math, knowledge progress and skills development in the workplace.
  • Use management information systems and e-portfolio platforms to monitor apprentice progress against targets providing support as appropriate.
  • To review and monitor programme evaluation feedback on a regular basis and report to the manager.
  • Proactively manage a full caseload of apprentices and employers, providing an effective response to queries from employers and apprentices concerning the programme to ensure excellent levels of apprentice and employer satisfaction.
  • Support the delivery of line manager and OneFile workshops, webinars and induction events which build the effectiveness of the apprentices learning environment.
  • Work with Apprenticeship teams to plan, manage and review effective cooperation between apprentices and employers.
  • Engage with quality assurance procedures to ensure client standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with client confidentiality and data protection policies.
  • Undertake additional reasonable activities as required.

Skills and experience

  • Proficient with MS Excel functionality and has systems confidence.
  • Resilient and pro-active in developing positive relationships with apprentices and employers to meet KPIs in learner and employer satisfaction.
  • Ability to present professionally to employers, to build successful relationships and to represent in diverse environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and develop positive professional relationships.
  • Be a solution finder to demands and challenges.
  • High level of administrative and IT skills and ability to use a range of IT software.

Desirable

  • Experience of successful client management.
  • Experience of providing advice and guidance.
  • Knowledge and ability to use e-portfolios and/or use of web-based learning methods.
  • Knowledge of the apprenticeship environment or a similar.
  • Awareness of safety, quality, environmental, commercial and financial aspects.
  • An understanding of the rail industry or similar environment.
  • A degree or equivalent.
