Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit anApprenticeship Inclusion Coachon a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll be based at our campus in Poole, with some travel required. In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £25,662 - £27,388 per annum.

The Role:

As our Apprenticeship Inclusion Coachyou will support in identifying additional support needs and ensuring an appropriate support plan is in place both at College and in liaison with employers.

The Inclusion Coach will act as a key contact for apprentices and staff to effectively triage cases and track support across the cohort to ensure apprentices achieve their best outcomes.

The Student Inclusion and Support is a dedicated team within the Student Experience Directorate to help support all aspects of a student’s journey while they are studying at The Bournemouth and Poole College.

Responsibilities as our Apprenticeship Inclusion Coach will include:

  • Act as a single point of contact for apprentices and those working with them to discuss support needs and work collaboratively with wider teams and services to co-ordinate support plans.
  • Work directly with a designated caseload of students, acting as a key worker to advocate for them and to ensure effective support is in place to develop their independence.
  • Be knowledgeable on key legislation and statutory guidance for example The Equality Act 2010 and The SEND Code of Practice 2014.
  • Advise and support apprenticeship teams and employers with making reasonable adjustments to support students.
  • Support the apprenticeship team to develop SEND practices for example assisting with review meetings to discuss support and progress.
  • Work in partnership with curriculum staff and other professionals to continually review and assess the progress of students, adapting support as required.
  • Encourage students to increase their independence working with them to develop skills such as organisation and planning, use of assistive technology and employability skills. Motivate and support students to engage with the College community to build confidence and social skills.
  • Help develop effective systems with the apprenticeship team to ensure that administrative and data processes are followed and records updated in a timely manner.

As our Apprenticeship Inclusion Coach, you’llideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths qualifications
  • Education or Training to Level 2
  • Experience of working in a learning environment or working directly with young people in a training or support role.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and neurodiversity in young people.
  • Willingness to work cross site as required within a range of areas and with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
