Job Title: Apprenticeship Skills Tutor

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum

Gi Group are now seeking to appoint an experienced Apprenticeship Skills Tutor to our client based in Wath Upon Dearne or Worksop, dependent on candidate preference. The Apprenticeship Skills Tutor is responsible for supporting and enhancing the apprentice and employer experience through effective skills coaching and tutoring. The postholder will act as a subject matter specialist and will be required to design and deliver highly inspirational teaching sessions and will support the apprentices to achieve their end point assessment. This role will require the postholder to travel, as apprentices must be visited at their place of employment.
Duties of the Apprenticeship Skills Tutor
- To design, develop, and deliver highly inspirational teaching sessions to learners towards their knowledge, skills, and behaviours within the higher-level management standards.
- To provide coaching and skills support through developmental feedback to ensure successful timely completion of End Point Assessment (EPA).
- To conduct regular tripartite reviews with the Apprentice Line Manager and the apprentice to successfully complete timely EPAs.
- To support the development and progression of caseload of apprentices through onsite workplace visits in the creation of showcase evidence such as observations, reflective accounts, witness testimonies, professional discussions, and any further evidence to support EPA requirements. This evidence will be documented within the e-portfolio.
- To highlight and document any operational issues to the Line Manger, which any affect learner progression.
- To set achievable tasks and provide support throughout the apprentice journey, including assisting the apprentices in preparation for any functional skills assessments.
- To support employers in understanding and documenting their responsibilities relating to on and off job training requirements of the apprentice.
- To provide pastoral support to apprentices as required, including on and off the job training, e-portfolio usage, and any additional support needs and strategies.
- To provide advice, guidance, and training regarding safeguarding, British values, equality and diversity, and further personal development areas.
- To conduct initial assessments and inductions with all new learners and employers.
- General administrative tasks including ensuring accurate learner data within all software packages, monitoring learner attendance and targets, completing all required documentation within the agreed timescales, and regular use of Outlook calendars.
- To participate and document in all professional development.
Role Criteria
- Experience in assessing within Apprenticeship frameworks.
- Experience of working in a business environment.
- Experience of supporting learners through assignments and assessments.
- Vocationally relevant qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Maths and English at Level 2 or above.
- ICT at Level 2 or above or willingness to work towards.
- An assessment qualification D32/D33 A1 or CAQA (or willingness to work towards).
- Knowledge of current apprenticeship frameworks.
- Understanding of work-based learning apprenticeships.
- UK Drivers Licence and access to own vehicle for work.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people receiving education and training.
- Able to work with sensitive information and treat this confidentially in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.
