Architectural Technician (Permanent)

V-Recruit are currently working with one of their key Public Sector clients to recruit an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Architectural Technician in the Rotherham, South Yorkshire area, to start as soon as possible.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Architectural Technician/Technologist to work under the direction of the Building Consultancy Manager and Building Surveying and Design Manager on the design and management of a wide variety of construction related projects, together with the provision of technical inspections and advice to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• To undertake the design and support in the management of designated architectural project’s, including 3D modelling and clash detection of designated BIM (Building Information Modelling) related projects, 3D Design and specification including attendance at officer meetings and committees as required by the role
• To provide advice and make recommendations on architectural design matters to colleagues and clients, including reporting and attendance at officer meetings and committees as required by the role.
• To contribute to the management of the group and to deputise for the Building Consultancy Manager and Building Surveying and Design Manager as required.
• To ensure the standards required by the Local Authority and the clients in terms of design, performance and advice are adhered to and to help implement the Councils procurement strategy for constructionrelated services, ensuring financial regulations are strictly observed in the preparation and implementation of all projects
• To liaise with consultants, technical staff, and all stakeholders as required, to foster cooperation and provide a properly coordinated service to clients
• To attend emergency situations and meetings out of ours where absolutely necessary.
• To be familiar and comply with all relevant technology, health and safety, operational, financial, personnel, data protection, legislation, contract law and other policies and procedures relevant to the post.

Job Specifics

£36,648 - £39,186 per annum

The above salaries are subject to annual cost of living increases, and annual increments through scale.

You will have access to an attractive and sought-after Local Authority pension

26 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays), increasing to 29 days after 5 years’ service (an additional day of annual leave is also in review)

Hybrid working available after initial induction period, with just one day per week from the office (more if you prefer). Flexitime is also recognised by this client.

37 hours per week

Candidate Requirements:

• It is essential that the chosen candidate will have a Level 7 qualification (i.e.  Post Graduate Degree, Graduate Certificates or Diplomas) or Level 6 qualification (i.e. Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates and Diplomas) plus post qualifying experience OR evidence the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience and be actively working towards as professional qualification in related discipline, such as MCIAT (Member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists)
• Proven experience in an Architectural Technologist role, including knowledge and experience in legal & statutory regulations associated with the role
• Proven experience working in a BIM design environment or related discipline
• Knowledge and experience in the production of technical specifications and documentation
• Highly capable of producing technical drawings in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experienced in undertaking measured surveys, and production of associated technical reports
• Knowledge and experience of undertaking clash detection using Navisworks and production of clash detection reports
• Proven knowledge and experience of the production of 3D walkthroughs and graphical representations
• It would be desirable if candidates had experience of undertaking point cloud surveys and transferring them to Revit.
